2007 RULES:  Fisher Community Fair Demolition Derby      

1.        Off of street stock cars only. NO commercial vehicles, ambulances, hearses, limos or Imperials.

2.        All glass, trim, lights, etc. must be removed.

3.        Radiators must remain in stock position.  Transmission coolers optional.  NO engine oil coolers.

4.        All hoods will be opened for inspections.

5.        Stock gas tank must be removed and replaced with tank inside the car with a six-gallon maximum.  The gas must be tightly secured and covered with a protective firewall.

6.        Batteries must be moved inside the driver’s compartment and must be secured and covered.

7.        Driver’s doors may be welded solid.  All other doors can be welded with a six-inch weld, then a three-inch gap (NOT SOLID).  Tailgates on wagons must be wired or bolted, no welds.  Tailgates on trucks may be welded with a six-inch weld, then a three-inch gap (NOT SOLID).

8.        Hood, trunk and tailgates may be fastened with a six, ¾ inch bolts or six places with #9 wire.  Must be outboard of radiator.  Must use either bolts or wire, not a combination of the two.  Cannot go through the frame.  Additional wire may be used but must be from sheet metal to sheet metal.

9.        Any tire must not exceed 16.5.

10.   Body bolts can be replaced with up to ¾ inch bolts, 5” x 5” washers.  Seam welding is allowed.  Leafspring conversions are allowed, eight springs max.

11.   Four point cages are allowed.  NO kicker bars forward or backward from cage allowed.  Vertical Bars must go straight down.  Cage not to exceed six inches behind seat.  Driver must have working seatbelts and use them.  NO bars outside of car.  Cage highly recommended.

12.   NO plating or reinforcing of any part of the frame or core support.  NO painting or undercoating of frame.

13.   Cars without headers through hood must have two eight-inch holes on each side of carburetor.

 

Additional Rules:

A.    All cars will be inspected off of the trailer in a designated area with driver of the car and officials only.  Car must be checked in at least two hours before start time.

B.    If it’s not in the rules and is questionable, call and ask (Greg McCoy – ph: 217.897.1021).  Don’t be sent away because you did not know.

C.    Any protests should be made prior to the Feature.  After the Feature starts, it is too late.

D.    Cars must make contact every 60 (sixty) seconds.

E.     NO alcohol or drugs permitted in pit area.  Any driver or pit crewmember under the influence will be escorted out.
